A RARE TREAT FOR VALLEY DANCE LOVERS!
The ever popular Diablo Ballet Company from the Bay Area will dance two Balanchine ballets not seen for decades in the Central Valley: The iconic Apollo, choreographed by the prolific Balanchine in 1928, marks the beginning of the neoclassical style of ballet. Noted for his versatility and musicality, Mr. Balanchine’s 1970 ballet Who Cares?, set to the music of George Gershwin, is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Going backward in time Diablo Ballet will end its program with the Esmeralda Ballet, a joyous classical ballet choreographed in 1844 by Jules Perrot.
